The Caverns Gallery - Caverns open to the general public are called "show caves." Show caves have continuous walkways usually tall enough for groups of adults to comfortably walk through. Tickets are sold, and tour guides accompany groups of ticket holders through the caves according to each attraction's specified hours. Sometimes caves offer special tours of areas not included in the usual tours to spelunkers -- areas that may require cave helmets and climbing. It's very common to see classes of school children on field trips at show caves. I have photos of several caverns not yet included here, and hope to expand my cavern gallery in the future. For now it includes:

Mena Airport Gallery in Mena, Arkansas. On a business trip to Texas this year, I planned a route through historic and scenic sites I wanted to see. One place on my list was the airport in Mena, Arkansas -- one of the main airports used for cocaine trafficking during the Reagan-Bush-North Contra/Crack Cocaine days. The House on the Rock Photo Gallery includes over 100 photos meant to portray the atmosphere of Wisconsin's most popular tourist attraction. Many of these photos aren't of professional quality, but were included to give a realistic virtual tour of the House and its collections. Some photos show uneven lighting (it's just me and my little digital camera, after all -- no bright yellow photographer's lights spread throughout the room), others show dust (something beyond my control -- the workers never seem to be able to keep up with it). And many photos were beautiful but so "busy" (show many small color variations) that it was impossible to reduce the file size to 125 kb or less without making the photos slightly jagged or grainy. Nevertheless, most photos here are beautiful, while all provide insight into what makes The House on the Rock so special:
